New Plans For Road House

There are plans to breathe new life into one of Marra Worra Worra’s key businesses – the Ngiyali Roadhouse.

About $90,000 has already been spent on road works around the service station and on the entrance to Marra Worra Worra headquarters.

NBC Aboriginal Corporation, which specialise in remote area design, has been commissioned as architects and will oversee the project

Over the coming months, a range of revamps to the existing building will begin, with rooflines heightened and extended and the restaurant being expanded to bigger capacity.

A new self-serve cooler will be built and a raised service area will allow workers to have direct sight to the bowsers. Ngiyali also plans to introduce 24-hour card readers on the bowsers to allow truckies to access high-flow diesel pumps at any time of the night.

There will also be significantly improved signage on the main road.

Just around the corner on Forrest Road, NBC, on Marra Worra Worra’s behalf, is also examining redevelopment possibilities on almost one acre of land adjacent to the store.
